This keyboard is so good i hooked it up to my phone to write this review. For the price this is the best. The clack is A1!The back light options are overkill in a good way .Quality item and i am very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend.

I received My keyboard and love it. Am having problems adding My wireless mouse. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Gisella Giraldi –
Exactly what I expected!! Love the sound … brings back all the feels of grade 9 typing class in the 80’s haha and it’s PINK! My happy colour!!
Richard Kennedy –
Looks great, works well, and people have been talking about it when they come for a visit. No issues, and feels like an old style typewriter.
Wendy Lea (verified owner) –
I just got mine and love it. I got the pink with silver edges. But I love the one that pops up first in the add with the salmon pink and beige color with silver edges. Didn’t/couldn’t find that one. Does anyone know which one that is or what it’s called. Thanks!
Valerie Sheppard –
Sooooo cute!! Has a little return bar that lights up the keys, sounds JUST like an old fashioned typewriter!! I love it!
Nadine Pryce –
So cool, and very retro! I love it !
Amy D –
Sounds like typing in the 60’s! Exactly what I wanted! Thank You!
Stephanie Party –
The typewriter keyboard is easy to use and clicks with each key. The keys type comfortably and the pink keys are a nice color. It is made of plastic including the connective pieces. The white backlight under the keys, is bright and easy on the eyes. Makes it easier to see the keys in the dark. Connects to Bluetooth and allows multiple Bluetooth connections. Super easy to pair.

The sound of the clicking typewriter keys is a welcome journey down Memory Lane!
Jen B. –
I use this with my iPad. It’s very easy to connect and to use. There are many different style of lights for the display. My only con with this is that there’s no way to see how much battery is left.
Jay D –
I’ve always wanted an old school typewriter style keyboard, and this does it for me! I love the sound and feel when typing on it! I would tap the keys at times without needing to actually type because it’s just so fun to use. I didn’t think I’d care much about the dancing light feature, thought it would be distracting, but I actually ended up liking the light style that slowly moves diagonally across the keyboard. The bluetooth connectivity is flawless, and brightness and volume control dial is also very useful. Overall, happy with this purchase!
Thomas H –
For anyone who wants to add the touch and feel of a mechanical action keyboard to a modern system, this can’t be beat. Love it!
Sumayyah A –
Waited to get this for years cuz $$$ but god i love it. Good quality and works wonderfully
Johnathan N –
I use this for work so plug it into a desktop computer. Have not tried Bluetooth with it but I love this keyboard. It feels amazing and the clicks of the keys are always satisfying to hear
Florence C –
I am obsessed. One of the Best Purchases in a while. I bought it because I love typewriters and the clicking noise they make. And while it’s not exactly like it, it’s pretty close. I just needed some motivation to help me to continue writing my book and it actually surprisingly is helping because I love hearing the sound! 😂 it is expensive but it’s very high quality in my opinion so it is worth it if you’re a sucker for typewriters. But also a video for those who type fast in case you want to take it in a work environment, I wouldn’t suggest it. It is quite loud and may be an annoyance to those around because I’m sure an entire office would hear it 😂
Chist H –
I like the physicality of a mechanical keyboard – I simply type faster and make fewer mistakes, having learned in high school how to type on an old IBM Selectric typewriter – was able to type 80+ wpm too. This keyboard has a great feel, a classic retro style that an old fart like myself appreciates.
Themba B –
A bit clumsy but was to be expected. Great conversation piece in the office. The return bell is great!
Jyoti Mand –
The keyboard that came with our iMac died. It just didn’t work any longer. So we needed a new keyboard and I saw this on a TV program.I always wanted one . My husband and I are both writers and using this keyboard is like using an old fashion typewriter. It just wonderful. The klickity clack of the keys is so fun. We keep ours hooked up to our desktop computer by USB. Works like a charm.
Ferne Moen –
I only knew Qwerkywriter from the reviews and videos online. The experience I had once the keyboard arrived justified everything I already knew. The “clickity clack” was spot on, appreciate the fact that it was plug’n’play from the unwrap phase:- Battery charged- Seamless Bluetooth connection with iPadHolds the retro magic so far 🙂
Babita Oza –
Wanted this brand after seeing YouTube reviews! Love it. Bluetooth connected worked on 2021 iPad and iMac. I like the key feel and actually prefer it over the iMac keyboard. Now just need to get better mouse. Had typing class in 1980’s and this is very similar to portable typewriter – just no case. They should offer case.
Jamie Ross –
I can’t comment about the Bluetooth or battery life capabilities since I’ve elected to connect it directly to my computer. What I will say is that the quality of the keyboard is outstanding. I feel a little self-conscious confessing that the whole reason I got the keyboard was for the sound factor. I’ve used other keyboards with these type of keys, but they never made me feel like I was typing on a real old fashioned typewriter. The keyboard sounds exactly like my old typewriter did. The sound has helped me more than double my writing output. Silly? Maybe, but I say whatever it takes. Thanks Qwerkywriter :0)
Kajol Luthra –
Love everything about this retro keyboard but especially the sound! Do wish it had a less bulky case than the one on the Qwerkywriter site. Someone needs to make one!
Chisom Oluwatosin –
I wanted a keyboard for my tablet and saw this on Amazon and thought, “How cool is this!” The reviews were very good so I thought, even for the cost, it might be worth the expense, and it is.I love the feel and novelty of this keyboard. The keys clack, the classic nobs for “advancing” the paper, the return lever, all just some of the vintage features of an actual typewriter. AND it works as expected.I plugged it in, paired it with my tablet and was able to do what I wanted which was to be able to have a ZOOM call on half of the screen and Word on the other so that I could take notes. Yes, you can do the same with a laptop, but again, part of the charm of this item is that it presents as a classic typewriter. I purchased this not because I necessarily needed this, but because I wanted it. Not to mention, I find it much easier typing with this keyboard than the keyboard on a laptop. Will it do more than an ordinary keyboard, “No.” However, again, you’re purchasing this more for something that is different than your traditional keyboard. It’s cool, it’s fun, but most of all it is extremely useful. I highly recommend.

Our son came for a visit and my wife was very impressed with this keyboard.I ordered one for her and upon delivery, in very short order, she had it installed and fully functional. And she is not a techie by any stretch of the imagination. It works faultlessly and she even packed it when we went out of town for a few weeks.
Jordane Cummings –
Granddaughter loves it. Wants to be a writer
Allen Kakooza –
I saw the price tag for this item and waited thinking “I don’t really NEED this, but I WANT it!” Christmas gifted me this expensive keyboard and it was my favorite gift. I write for a living, and I have to say the materials didn’t disappoint nor did the functionality. It is JUST like typing on an old school Remington and is just a durable. Everything is metal. Not plastic at all! The ‘clickety’ sound you get from typing is therapeutic and I no longer tend to hit more than one key at a time (which I did often with my normal bluetooth keyboards). LOVE IT! WORTH THE SPLURGE!
Carol Hlongwane –
I’ve wanted this for a long time and finally bought it when it went on sale. It’s a little tricky because I have a Mac laptop so I place the keyboard over my Mac keyboard but there is something about the clicking of the keys that I love. I learned to type on an electric typewriter so maybe that’s the appeal.
Sigrid Lubowitz –
I’m in looooovveeee with this keyboard! It’s fun and clicky and clacky and it makes me soooo happy everyday when I’m on my computer. I haven’t tried the blue tooth connection – I plugged it into my laptop via the USB port and it works perfectly. It’s high quality and awesome. I highly, highly recommend!
Mohit Natarajan –
This thing is the best keyboard I ever owned.
Tevin Runolfsson –
Yes, I know the price is a bit shocking, but this is not a toy. It’s a precision instrument…and a work of art! It’s truly a JOY to use and, like everyone else…I LOVE the click of the keys. I write fiction for my own enjoyment and my iPad onboard keyboard just wasn’t making the cut. I spent more time correcting its mistakes than my own. The Qwerkywriter S allows me to type more quickly than I have ever before and I type with less mistakes; making my writing time relaxing and productive. Besides…just LOOK at it! Even just sitting on my desk, it brings a smile to my face and, yes, I’m using it right now. If you’re going to be putting hours of typing time in on a daily basis; no matter if it’s for work or your own entertainment, the Qwerkywriter S is truly worth the money. Just buy it. You won’t be sorry.
Titilayo Kimberly –
It’s the best keyboard typewriter out there 😀
Ernest Twasiima –
I am over the moon happy with the Quirkytyper S. The only thing that even makes me draw back a tiny bit is the fact that the keys are plastic and not metal but that doesn’t stop me from giving a full five star review. I’m actually using it to type this review on my iPad. It’s flawless for writing. I was able to write a very lengthy journal post in my favorite journaling app with no loss nor lag. The responsiveness of the keyboard and the way it integrates with Bluetooth is phenomenal. I can’t stress that enough, I type fairly fast and I haven’t noticed any lag and it integrates very well with Apple’s corrective algorithms in text (I know, I still use it though). I am absolutely in love with it. I may actually use my iPad more now. The entire keyboard feels well made and the keys are highly responsive, none of them wobble nor stick. I haven’t quite figured out how to reprogram the Macro Return Bar yet. Don’t know if I’ll ever really need that tidbit. Honestly makes me wish that I had built a desktop to pair it with instead of just using it with my iPad. Well worth the price in my opinion. I can’t wait to use it more.
Pauline Scott –
Wonderful to use, just love how it feels, sounds and responds, and so well made, great attention to detail.
Charlotte Jerde –
Typewriters are cool but this is just as good if not better! Clickety clack!

Logan Holmes –
I missed the feel of an old-fashioned typewriter (though certainly not the inability to edit) and when I read about the Qwerkywriter I was skeptical, but took the chance anyway and I’m glad I did. Just a great throwback feeling and I find that I’m typing faster again and making less mistakes, which is amazing. Great product. If I have any complaints, it’s that keys can pop off a little too easily. Overall, though, I’m thrilled.
Junior Baguma –
I love this typewriter. It is the closest you can get to a regular typewriter.
Sid Lindgren –
This is an expensive mechanical keyboard. There are many excellent mechanical keyboards that cost far less than this keyboard. So why buy this? It is for someone like me who grew up on typewriters, nothing deeper than that. Think of it as a novelty object, a conversation piece. The keyboard quality is excellent. The keyboard feel is outstanding. I use this keyboard primarily with my iPad pro. The keyboard can Bluetooth sync with three devices. I also use it with my laptop computer. Unless you have fond memories of using a typewriter, there are less costly mechanical keyboards with more features for a third of the price.
Lisa Masemola –
Well, I’ve had this typewriter for a few weeks now and so far none of the problems I’ve seen in other reviews have happened yet. I guess time will tell! All in all though it’s really nice and sleek; great buy.

This keyboard is wonderful — its retro look and feel has really spiced up my endless hours working from home. It’s just charming, and I love the clickety-clackety sound of my fingers hitting the keys, as well as the carriage return that I programmed with a macro. Its Bluetooth connectivity (or sometimes lack thereof) may be due to the computers I attempt to connect to rather than a flaw in the Quirkywriter itself. Fortunately, the USB connection via the charger cord (which does both) works just fine. Love this, and I’m glad I splurged on it!
MexicanStephy –
No problem with the product. I gave it a 4 because afterwards we found the same item for 50 dollars less.
Barbara Atwine –
No problem with the product.
Gloria Mulalira –
There are less expensive mock typewriter keyboards, but with this one it is worth the price. The quality of manufacturing is excellent and the materials used top notch. It mimics the old manual typewriter I used in high school. An almost flawless design, only issue the return handle on the carriage should be turned up, now it blocks a couple of keys if approaching from the side. Not an issue for a trained typist but can’t say the same for me.Great product and conversation piece.
Brenda Kibirige –
Looks and works great! Like it so much I just bought a second one.
Sabina Ahuja –
I love this stupid keyboard more than a person should love an object. I learned howbto type on an actual typewriter, so this little taste of childhood makes my workday just a little more fun.
Bailey Hidalgo –
It is the best keyboard I have ever had.
Henry –
It’s very nice and works great. Connect up to 3 devices at once Love the sound when you type and reminds me of a retro typewriter. Great product. A little pricey but overall I approve
Katie Bell –
This is such an AMAZING mechanical keyboard. The clicking is so similar to an old fashioned one, and it’s addictive to keep clicking on all of the keys. If you are a Typer or Writer, then you NEED this!! Don’t look at any other brand, this one is the ONLY one that you will need!!
N. Priddy –
This is the best keyboard i have ever had. It reminds me of when i took typing in school back in the `1960s.Great quality, and i may end up needing another. The only issue i had, was the “S” key was upside-down.A+
Lisa –
The clicking and ‘real feel’ of this old fashioned typewriter style is satisfying in a way that a regular computer keyboards can never be!
BK McKay –
This is a very cool typewriter that reminded me of the ones that I learned on many years ago. Problem is that between the ridges on the keys, their size, and the amount of travel that they have up and down it is very difficult to keep from hitting more than just the one key that you are going for. I had many more errors using this typewriter, even after working with it for a few days to get used to it, than on my regular keyboard. So as much as I think it is a great keyboard, looks great and sounds great, but just not accurate enough to use on a regular basis.

5stars experience
MrsBHB –
My laptop computer from work has a trackpad. I’m always moving my curser/“mouse” somewhere I didn’t intend and because I’m writing lots of reports it was messing me up. This keyboard makes writing fun and the carriage return as an enter key allows me to angry enter when I’m punted from VPN and need to reconnect.
R. Sabrina Udell –
This keyboard has just the right amount of touch resistance and click, and it looks beautiful on my desk! Excellent bluetooth connectivity with my devices, and there’s zero lag.
Magdalena S. Galindo –
Only thing I don’t like about it are the keys. They’re plastic vs metal
Devin –
If you’re looking for a more “serious” keyboard this is definitely an option, with two rotary knobs (one is a scroll-wheel and the other a software volume wheel), a programmable return bar, and a full-metal body. It has absolutely no features that you would find on an enthusiast keyboard, though- programmability beyond the included PCB functions (that being reprogramming the return bar) does not exist, you will need to use Sharpkeys for any kind of key remapping, and the switches do not hotswap without further tinkering and soldering in Mill-max hotswap sockets yourself. Naturally this will void any kind of warranty the item comes with, and getting it open is a bit of a bugger. If you don’t like Cherry/Gateron/Outemu blues and you want a keyboard that you can reprogram, stay away, unless you’re intent on buying a $300 keyboard to turn it into a soldering project. I don’t know if I would recommend it after getting further into the mechanical keyboard “hobby” (I’ve since learned I completely loathe blue switches as far as clicky switches go) as you can find a much more technically impressive keyboard for $50. It is, however, the best option available for people who want a keyboard patterned after a typewriter, its build quality is phenomenal, Bluetooth pairs easily and quickly, and I do understand that this is a niche product in an already niche hobby.I own and use my Qwerkywriter quite often as a Bluetooth keyboard for a tablet, but swapped out the Gateron blues in it for Kailh box navies. Probably should have soldered in Mill-max sockets instead…
Ezra –
Writes like a dream. Bluetooth was sketchy at first but seems to be working fine now.
Phil Sallee –
The keyboard arrived with the return bar broken. I contacted the company and they responded very quickly with a return authorization. A replacement was shipped the same day the received the return. Excellent customer service. The keyboard is for my wife, who likes retro things and typewriters. This keyboard checks both boxes. The touch of the keys is excellent, doing a good job of replicating the feel of a manual typewriter.
Lauren Blanchard Zalewski –
I spend all day, every day typing. I am a writer and also run a highly engaged group on Facebook which needs heavy monitoring. I splurged for this so I could get the old-fashioned feel and *clicks* of the typewriters that I learned on as a teen. As a writer, it is incredibly satisfying to hear the keys click away and makes me feel that much more productive! I toggle back and forth easily between my laptop and iPad as I use them both at the same time for different things. I know this is pricey, but in my opinion it is worth every penny! I haven’t had any issues in the 10 months since purchasing it. I love my Qwerkywriter so much and I love the looks of it too!
Steve in DC –
I really LOVE this typewriter, the keyboard is fantastic, though it does take a bit of getting used to. However, there is just one issue that makes me hesitate giving five stars, and I’m not the only one to notice this potential failing: it is the fear that after just a few weeks there are some keys that seem to be fading. The white lettering on the “S”, “D”, “C”, “V” and on the “Shift” and “Ctrl” keys, for example. Still very legible, but they do seem to be slowly disappearing. Replacing these will be another cost, and if I buy from the same source I fear that they will just fade again. If someone can suggest an alternative source for similar, but better keys I would be grateful! Even with this concern, the feel and the look of this machine brings a typewriter-like experience that make it worthwhile… makes me want to write!
uc delreal –
Works great. What I always wanted. A helps me with the mindset, that I’m only going to use it to write.
Jack Trimpey –
This is a serious love affair with a machine. I’ve had it for a year, and the joy of using it only gets better. last month it dropped it on the carpeted floor and I felt as though I had dropped a baby. It was undamaged, but I was shaken and took the rest of the morning off. It’s like a Stephen King thing. I truly love my Qwerkywriter!
Faith Shyanne –
Even better in person!
Andersen Boyer –
I am a professional writer and am at my computer all day, every day. This is such a cute and quirky way to jazz up my desk. It’s high quality metal, the blue key click gives the feel of an old-fashioned typewriter. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Kindle Customer –
Brought me back to the old days of the mechanical typewriter
Morrell Jacobs III –
The keys / switches have a wonderful action; I don’t use the carriage return level and only occasionally use the sound wheel, but they are nice features.Switching between wired to MacBook and blue tooth to iPad is smooth and easy.
